Robert De Niro Sued For Discrimination, Sexual Misconduct by Former Female Employee (VIDEO)
Actor Robert De Niro is facing allegations of abuse, gender discrimination, and sexual misconduct by a former female employee.
The allegations come days after De Niro made headlines for an interview in which he ranted against President Donald Trump, his supporters, and Fox News.
The former employee, Graham Chase Robinson, is suing the Oscar-winning actor in federal court, claiming he subjected her to abusive behavior and sexual harassment.
Robinson says De Niro’s boorish behavior included verbal abuse, sexist bahvior, lewd jokes, and unwanted, inappropriate touching. She even released an audio recording of a profanity-laced rant De Niro left on her phone.
In the voicemail (included below), De Niro calls Robinson a “spoiled brat,” and curses frequently. Although it is not totally clear why he is so upset, Robinson claims it was because she didn’t answer his call.
“You f–king don’t answer my calls. How dare you.” he is heard saying in the voicemail. “You’re about to be fired. You’re f–king history. This is bulls–t. How dare you f–king disrespect me? You gotta be f–king kidding me, you spoiled brat! F–k you!”
‘Creepy Behavior’
Robinson claims despite being promoted to vice president of production and finance in the actor’s production company, he treated her as an “office wife.” His “creepy behavior” included buttoning his shirt, scratching his back, and going into his hotel room to “shake” him awake. He also told her to do his laundry and set his table to eat.
She also claims he often made crude and sexually suggestive comments to her. He made jokes about using Viagra and told her she should use a co-worker’s sperm to get pregnant. When a co-worker slapped her on the behind, Robinson claims De Niro stood by and did nothing.
Robinson also said De Niro would go into the restroom and urinate while he was on calls with her.
“Robert De Niro is someone who has clung to old mores. He does not accept the idea that men should treat women as equals,” her lawsuit said.
She claims that, despite working longer hours than her male counterparts, she was paid less. When she asked for a raise, she claims De Niro refused. She claims De Niro’s company filed a lawsuit alleging she had embezzled money after she informed them of her intent to file a lawsuit for gender discrimination over her pay.
De Niro’s company claims she used company money and resources for personal use and wasted hours of work time binging episodes of “Friends” on Netflix.
ABC 7 in New York reports on the allegations, and aired an edited version of De Niro’s expletive-laden phone call.
De Niro’s attorney, Tom Harvey, called the allegations in the lawsuit “beyond absurd.”
