‘Fantasy Island’ Reboot Goes Dark in the First Trailer and Poster

Only Blumhouse, the studio behind Get Out and Halloween, could take a beloved TV show like “Fantasy Island” and turn it into a horror flick. The first trailer and one-sheet poster are featured below.

In this new spin on the classic TV show, the enigmatic Mr. Roarke (Michael Pena) makes the secret dreams of his lucky guests come true at a luxurious but remote tropical resort. But when the fantasies turn into nightmares, the guests have to solve the island’s mystery in order to escape with their lives.

In addition to Peña, the film also stars Maggie Q, Lucy Hale, Austin Stowell, Portia Doubleday, Jimmy O. Yang, Ryan Hansen, and Michael Rooker.

The film is directed by Jeff Wadlow (Kick Ass 2, Truth or Dare) and written by Jeff Wadlow & Chris Roach & Jillian Jacobs. It is produced by Jason Blum and Marc Toberoff.

Here’s the poster, which turns the island itself into a creepy, screaming face.

Here’s the trailer.

Fantasy Island opens February 14, 2020.
