‘Venom’ Sequel Gets a Title, New Release Date

The Venom sequel finally has title, but you will have to wait a little longer to see the film.

Sony announced Tuesday that the sequel will be titled Venom: Let There Be Carnage. It is, as Marvel fans know, a reference to the symbiote villian Carnage, who will be the focus of the story after a cameo in the first film.

The film, which had been scheduled to open October 2, will now hit theaters on June 25, 2021. That was the date that Robert Pattinson’s new Batman film was slated to open, but it has moved to the fall of 2021 after production was shut down.

Tom Hardy is returning as the title character, and Woody Harrelson will appear as Carnage. Andy Serkis will direct.

Sony released the following short video on social media announcing the title.
