‘Jurassic World’ Star Irrfan Khan Dead at 53 (VIDEO)

Actor Irrfan Khan, a Bollywood star who appeared in Jurassic World, The Amazing Spider-Man, Slumdog Millionaire, and Life of Pi, has died at 53.

The veteran character actor had been in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital with a colon infection when he passed. He has been battling a rare form of cancer since 2018.

Khan played Masrani, the owner of the doomed dinosaur theme park in Jurassic World. He also played the police inspector in Slumdog Millionaire.

“Irrfan was a strong soul, someone who fought till the very end and always inspired everyone who came close to him,” an official statement said.

Khan made his movie debut in the Academy Award-nominated Best Foreign Language movie Salaam Bombay! in 1988.



In 2018, Khan was diagnosed with a rare neuroendocrine cancer and underwent months of treatment in the United Kingdom.

“I trust, I have surrendered,” he wrote in a heartfelt note at the time announcing his diagnosis.

Khan won the 2012 Indian National Film Award for best actor for his performance in Paan Singh Tomar.
