The First Trailer for Gerard Butler’s Disaster Flick ‘Greenland’ Is Here (VIDEO)

Gerard Butler and Angel Has Fallen director Ric Roman Waugh have reunited for an end-of-the-world disaster flick called Greenland, and we have the first trailer!

The film follows a family’s struggle to survive when a comet threatens all life on Earth.

Butler stars as John Garrity, who has recently reconciled with his estranged wife Allison (Morena Baccarin) and their son (Roger Dale Floyd). Their personal issues take a back seat, however, when a comet’s fragments begin to hit the Earth. As society falls apart, they discover that there may be one safe haven offering hope.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Butler discussed the film and his character.

“I just loved this idea of a family,” Butler said. “It starts off with a feeling of an almost simple family drama…but in the background something more sinister is developing. And then through their drama you’re thrown into this much larger, epic, overpowering scenario that they have no control over, and it becomes this fight for survival.

“Ultimately, it feels like this journey into love and support and connections and understanding what really is important in life. And I felt like that was a very powerful and inspiring message.”

Here is the first poster for the film.
