New Deepfake Video Gives The Luke Skywalker ‘Mandalorian’ Cameo An Upgrade

The Disney+ series “The Mandalorian” wowed fans in its second season finale with an appearance by Mark Hamill himself, appearing again as a younger Luke Skywalker.

The scene was achieved through the use of some impressive CGI, and while the scene was a hit with fans, some felt the CGI Luke lacked realism.

Enter YouTuber Shamook, who has been posting some impressive deepfake videos. We recently reported on a Star Wars deepfake video he created, which put Harrison Ford’s face on Alden Ehrenreich (click here to watch it). Shamook has now focused his talents on the Luke scene, and we have to say, we think it looks better.

Using an Original Trilogy-era photo of Hamill, Shamook used deepfake technology to make the scene even more realistic.
