Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Elvis’ Drops a First Trailer

The first trailer for Elvis, the new biopic by director Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge!), has arrived!

The film, which opens June 24 in theaters, stars Austin Butler (Arrow) as Elvis Presley, and Tom Hanks as his manager Colonel Tom Parker. Olivia DeJonge stars as Priscilla Presley.

The film follows Presley from his youth to his rise as the King of Rock and Roll, and explores his complicated 20-plus year relationship with Parker. “We are the same, you and I,” Hank’s Parker says to Presley in the trailer. “We are two lonely children reaching for eternity.”

Here is the official poster for the film.
