Watch Two New Clips From ‘Downton Abbey: A New Era’

Downton Abbey: A New Era opens in theaters on May 20, and we have two new film clips for you to watch! The big-screen sequel to the 2019 film, as well as the acclaimed PBS series, reunites the original principal cast, while adding a number of significant new cast members.

Among the original cast members returning for the sequel are Hugh Bonneville (Notting Hill), Maggie Smith (the Harry Potter series), Elizabeth McGovern (Kick-Ass), Michelle Dockery (Good Behavior), Jim Carter (Shakespeare in Love), Joanne Froggatt (Robin Hood) and Penelope Wilton (Shaun of the Dead). Among the new additions to the cast are Hugh Dancy (Hannibal), Laura Haddock (Guardians of the Galaxy), Nathalie Baye (Catch Me If You Can) and Dominic West (The WIre). The film is directed by Simon Curtis from a screenplay by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.

In the film, the Dowager Countess (Smith) reveals she has inherited a villa in the south of France from a mysterious benefactor. The Crawley family then travels there for a vacation, and to discover the person behind the villa.

The film releases on May 20, 2022. It was initially scheduled to release for the 2021 Christmas season, until the COVID-19 pandemic pushed the release to March 18, 2022. In January, Universal announced another move, this time, to May 20.

Here are the film clips.

Here’s the second trailer for the film, released in February.
