Amber Midthunder Talks About Her Role in ‘Prey’ (VIDEO)
The Predator franchise is up and kicking again with Prey, a fresh take on the franchise with a new heroine (Amber Midthunder) taking on the near-invincible creature.
Prey takes the movie series back to its roots, pitting human versus alien in the elements, in a primitive battle for survival. Set in the wilderness of Colonial America, the film follows Naru (played by Amber Midthunder), a Cherokee warrior who encounters the ultimate hunter in its first visit to Earth.
The film’s cast is unique in that it features a number of Native American actors, many for the first-time in major roles. They include Stormee Kipp, Stefany Mathias, Michelle Thrush, and Julian Black Antelope. Notably, it will be the first ever feature-length film to stream with Comanche subtitles.
Prey is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who has previously directed 10 Cloverfield Lane and episodes of Black Mirror and The Boys. It is written by Patrick Aison, who wrote and produced episodes of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and Treadstone.
