Watch the First Trailer for ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’

Lucasfilm has released the first trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, the fifth and final outing for the globe-trotting, adventure-seeking archeologist played by Harrison Ford. The trailer can be seen below.

Set during the Space Race in the late 1960s, the film reportedly opens with a flashback to the Last Crusade era, and the trailer features footage from that sequence, as a de-aged Harrison Ford is seen in several shots. The film opens June 30, 2023.

The film stars Mads Mikkelsen, Antonio Banderas, Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Indy’s goddaughter Helena, John Rhys-Davies as Sallah (who is seen in the trailer), Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Toby Jones, Oliver Richters, Ethann Isidore, according to a press release from Disney.

For the first time in the Indiana Jones film series, the story was not written by creator George Lucas, nor did Steven Spielberg direct. Instead, James Mangold (Logan, Ford vs. Ferrari, 3:10 to Yuma) wrote and directed the film. Spielberg is serving as an executive producer, and Lucas is credited as the character’s creator. John Williams, who has scored the previous four Indy films, will also score Dial of Destiny, announcing it will be his final film at the age of 90.

Disney released the first image from the film back in May, and this marks the first official footage, after a recent spread in Empire Magazine featured new images and details on the film.

The film’s teaser poster, featuring a darkened portrait of Indy, was also released, featuring the June 30th release date.

Here’s the trailer.
