Bond 25, ‘No Time to Die,’ Gets Delayed Again
You’ll have to wait even longer to see Daniel Craig’s final appearance as Agent 007 James Bond. MGM has announced that No Time to Die has been delayed yet again.
With the COVID-19 pandemic still raging, studios are once again shuffling release dates for their 2020 blockbusters. That includes the 25th Bond film, which now has a release date of October 8. The new date was announced in a tweet from the official Bond account, included below.
As we previously reported, No Time to Die had been scheduled to open on April 2, 2021, nearly a year after its original release date. At that time, MGM pushed the premiere to November of 2020, but it was bumped from that date when it became clear most movie theaters were going to remain closed.
In the film, Bond (Craig) has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain (Rami Malek) armed with dangerous new technology.
In addition to Craig, Wright, and Malek, the film stars Ana de Armas, Léa Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Ben Whishaw, and Naomie Harris, with Christoph Waltz and Ralph Fiennes as “M.”
The film is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.
