‘Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark’ Gets a Creepy New Poster
Guillermo del Toro’s big-screen adaptation of Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark is coming to theaters this August, and a new poster hints at what’s to come.
Inspired by one of the most terrifying children’s book series of all time, Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark follows a group of young teens who must solve the mystery surrounding sudden and macabre deaths in their small town.
The books retold some classic scary tales and urban legends, and many of those same tales will be featured in the movie. The film stars Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza, Gabriel Rush, Austin Abrams, Dean Norris, Gil Bellows, Lorraine Toussaint, Austin Zajur, and Natalie Ganzhorn. It is directed by André Øvredal and produced by Guillermo del Toro, Sean Daniel, Jason F. Brown, J. Miles Dale and Elizabeth Grave.
These TV spots, released during the Super Bowl, provided the first look at the film.
In February, a teaser poster was released, featuring Harold the Scarecrow, a favorite story from the books.
Here’s the new poster, featuring the “spiders under the skin” story.
Scary Stories To Tell in The Dark opens August 9, 2019.
