Galaxy’s Edge ‘Rise of the Resistance’ Ride Announces Opening Dates at Disney Parks (VIDEO)

The “Rise of the Resistance” ride at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has announced opening dates for both Disney World in Orlando and Disneyland in Anaheim.

Galaxy’s Edge opened at Disneyland in May, with the Disney World version opening in August. However, the opening of the attraction’s biggest ride, “Rise of the Resistance,” has been delayed at both parks.

According to the Disney Parks blog, however, “Rise of the Resistance” will finally open at Orlando’s Disney World December 5. The Disneyland version of the ride will open on January 17, 2020.

According to the Disney Parks announcement, “Rise of the Resistance will blur the lines between fantasy and reality and will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Guests will be recruited to join Rey and General Organa at a secret base. Along the way, they will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. With the help of some heroes of the Resistance, they break out and must escape the Star Destroyer, protect the secret base, and stay one step ahead of Kylo Ren.”

Disney has also released a poster for the ride, featuring sequel trilogy characters. It also showcases the life-size original trilogy AT-ATs that will be the centerpiece of the action.

This teaser video released by Disney revealed the setting for the ride, although the ride itself was not shown.
