‘Ghostbusters Afterlife’ Releases First Poster, Images

Universal Pictures has released the one-sheet poster and first images from Ghostbusters Afterlife, a direct sequel to the original 1984 Ghostbusters.

Universal also announced a trailer for the new film was coming on Monday.

Jason Reitman, director of the new film and son of original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman, tweeted out the film’s poster Friday afternoon.

“Who wants to go joyriding?” he tweeted with the image.

The poster was released just as Vanity Fair posted a story about the upcoming film. The magazine also released images from the film, which were included with the story.

Vanity Fair also tweeted out a link to their article which included more tidbits about the film.

In early November, Ghostbusters creator and co-writer Dan Ackroyd revealed that he and the rest of the original cast members had completed shooting their scenes for the film. You can click here to read our coverage on that announcement.

In mid-November, images surfaced that appeared to show Hi-C drinks with the film’s title, in an apparent upcoming promotion. While the authenticity if the images was questioned, it did get the “Afterlife” title correct.

Ackroyd, Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts, and Ernie Hudson are all confirmed as returning for the film.

The new film will focus on new characters, however, including Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and Mckenna Grace.
