Zombieland 2 Gets a Title – And a First Image

We’ve known for some time that Zombieland 2 was coming, but we now know what it’s titled. We also have a first poster, which mimics the first film.

The poster not only featured the four returning cast members – Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin – but also included the film’s title: Zombieland: Double Tap.

Sony had previously announced that the horror comedy sequel would release on October 11, 2019. In December of last year, a report surfaced that Bill Murray would also appear in the film, despite (SPOILER!) being killed off in the original film. The report also stated that fellow Ghostbuster Dan Ackroyd will appear with him. While that tidbit raised all sorts of speculation, the report has not been confirmed by anyone connected to the film.

In addition to the poster and title release, Deadline announced exclusively that Rosario Dawson (Daredevil) had joined the cast. She joins Zoey Deutch, who had previously been announced as a cast member.

Using the “10 Year Challenge” meme, the new poster was placed side-by-side with the original, released ten years ago.

Here’s the tweet with the image.

The announcement was met with much happiness on social media.
