Here’s How You Can Watch Disney Plus at Home (VIDEO)

The streaming platforms that will carry Disney Plus have been announced – and one major provider is not included.

Disney Plus, which launches on November 12 in the United States, will be available on most major streaming platforms, except Amazon.

These platforms will carry the service at launch.

  • Apple’s iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV, and the Apple TV app
  • Google’s Android phones, Android TV devices, Google Chromecast and Chromecast built-in devices
  • Microsoft Xbox One
  • Sony Interactive Entertainment’s PlayStation 4 and all of Sony’s Android-based TVs
  • Roku streaming players and Roku TV models.

It’s not clear who is responsible for Disney Plus’ absence through Amazon’s Fire platform. However, Amazon currently bans other competitors on its platform, including digital movie streaming service VUDU, which is owned by Walmart.

Disney Plus will also be available on November 12 in Canada and the Netherlands, and will launch a week later in Australia and New Zealand.

Cost

The service will cost $6.99 per month in the United States. In Canada, the service will cost $8.99 (Canadian) a month (or $89.99 per year). In the Netherlands, the price will be €6.99 a month (or €69.99 per year).

The service will cost $8.99 (Australian) per month (or $89.99 per year) in Australia and $9.99 (New Zealand) per month (or $99.99 per year) in New Zealand.

Previously, the company announced that a streaming bundle that includes Disney Plus, ESPN Plus and Hulu for $12.99 per month will be available on November 12 as well.

What Will Be Shown

Disney Plus will be the exclusive streaming home for movies and shows from their studio and subsidiaries Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, National Geographic and other companies they own.

Among the original shows coming to the service are “The Mandalorian” (a Star Wars live-action TV show), “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” “The World According to Jeff Goldblum” and “Encore!”

Original films coming to the service include Lady and the Tramp and Noelle. Disney Plus will also feature an extensive catalog of the studio’s film and TV shows. Properties from the newly-acquired Fox are also included, among them will be nearly every episode of “The Simpsons.”

Newer Disney films will also be exclusively carried on the service. They include Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Aladdin, Toy Story 4, The Lion King, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Frozen 2 and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Earlier today, Disney posted this promotional video for the service on their new Twitter account.
