Gina Carano to Make First Convention Appearances Since ‘The Mandalorian’

The Mandalorian star Gina Carano is making her first convention appearances since being fired from the hit Disney+ Star Wars series for speaking out against cancel culture. The Cara Dune actress will appear in both Florida and Texas in the coming months.

The MMA fighter-turned-actress is scheduled to appear at MEGACON, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida on May 19-22. She will appear with several other Mandalorian cast mates, including Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon) and Katee Sackhoff (Bo-Katan). Her autograph fee for both events is $100. Her photo opp fee is $100 as well.

Gina Carano’s acting career has spanned a number of hit films, including playing Angel Dust in the Marvel smash hit Deadpool. She appeared opposite Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Fast & Furious 6, and in Steven Soderbergh’s Haywire.

Fans of Carano responded overwhelmingly to the announcements, with many pledging to go to show their support and protest Lucasfilm’s attempt to cancel her for speaking out about the deep political divisions in our culture and the marginalization of those with differing opinions.

In the year following her firing by Lucasfilm, many of Gina’s fans spoke out after other actors made even more controversial statements without harsh punishment from Disney. That includes an instance in which Pedro Pascal used Nazi imagery to criticize anyone who voted for President Donald Trump.
